How is Kids’ Flight structured?
Kids’ Flight is registered as a Non-Profit Company (NPC) in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act of South Africa under registration number: 2020/932212/08.
It is also registered as a Public Benefit Organisation under reference number 930071723 with SARS allowing Kids’ Flight to issue a Section 18A certificate to each donor to make a valid tax deduction.
The Purpose and Objectives of Kids’ Flight (NPC) are governed by its Memorandum of Incorporation:
“The main object of the Company is to provide and/or facilitate Helicopter Emergency Flights to children up to the age of 12 years. The Helicopter Emergency Flights will be provided in the case of time critical conditions warranting, based on industry standard emergency flight criteria, the activation of an appropriately equipped, staffed and registered emergency helicopter to provide life-saving medical care and stabilisation as well as the air-transport of the relevant child to an appropriate hospital. Inter-hospital transfers of children meeting the requirements will also be included.”
In fulfilling its main object, the Company aims to participate in all such activities and initiatives as deemed appropriate in order to facilitate the achievement of the main object of the Company as set out above.”
All Kids’ Flight (NPC) assets and profits can and will only be applied in the continuance of the above objective.

How will it be managed for ongoing operations?
Kids’ Flight is managed by ROCKET, a subsidiary of Henley Air. ROCKET is the leading independent Air Ambulance provider in South Africa. ROCKET will make available, and leverage its existing infrastructure to operate Kids’ Flight. This allows Kids’ Flight to have immediate operational security.
What entity will control the Kids’ Flight Air Ambulance?
Since it is an NPC, it does not have shareholders nor members. The Company is structured to the benefit of underprivileged children requiring helicopter emergency flights. It is operated as described above and governed by its MOI.
